ITC Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF)

Course Delivered with in Yorkshire and the Lake District

The ITC Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work course. This qualification has been accredited by Ofqual & ITC First Aid

Unit 1: EFAW – Emergency First Aid in the Workplace (A/504/4517)

  • Roles and Responsibilites of the first aider

  • Minimising risk in an emergency situation

  • Accident Procedure

  • Safe Airway Positions

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Dealing with Choking

  • Treatment for bleeding

  • Treatment for Shock

  • Appropriate First Aid Kit Use

  • Completing Accident Forms

Unit 2: RMIIW – Recognition & Management of Illness & Injury in the Workplace (F/504/4518)

  • Conduct a secondary Survey

  • Fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains

  • Concussion and Compression

  • Deal with Spinal injuries

  • Chest injuries

  • Burns and scalds

  • Eye injuries

  • Poisoning

  • Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxsis)

  • Cover major illnesses, such as, heart attack, stroke , epilepsy, asthma and diabetes.

Course Duration & Assessment

The training and assessment typically consists of a 3-day (18 hour) course leading to the full First Aid at Work qualification. This course is assessed continuously by tutor observation of ‘real-life’ skills benchmarked to National Occupational Standards and multiple choice questions for each unit.

2 day Requalification Certificate

This certificate has a valid ‘license to practice’ lifetime of 3-years. Certificate renewal is by completion of ITC First Aid at Work Requalification training course, provided this is completed before certificate expiry date.

For those candidates who have previously undertaken a First Aid at Work qualification and whose certificate is still in date, a 2- day (12+ hours) course may be followed, leading to requalification, providing all  assessment criteria are passed.
